Comanche is a dream come true for any rider. His partnership with Shauna is known throughout the state. We have cherished so many memories -- from showing, to trails, to just riding bareback and hanging out together!
Comanche's retirement ceremony at St. Peter's Horse Show
In 2006, Comanche was retired from the show ring due to illness. Earlier that year, while running in the pasture, we developed concerns regarding his vision. Not wanting to believe it, we finally had to accept it, and after a meeting with the vet, were told Comanche had become blind. We finished out the show season, without him missing a step. Out of respect for his well-being, we made the difficult decision to retire him.
Today, he is still in our lives. We treasure every step and breath he takes. He still heads out on easy trail rides, and can even be seen in our town's annual memorial day parade!
